Information about tests

10 ppb screening or NIAS screening (non-target analysis) semiquantitative

Semi-quantitative screening for the presence of NIAS (non-intentionally added substances) or some SML substances by GC-MS/FID after migration with food simulant ethanol 95% or ethanol 50% for foods with hydrophilic or lipophilic properties or simulant E (poly(2,6-diphenyl-p-phenylene oxide or Tenax ®) for dry foods. In principle, substances with molecular weights of approx. 100 - 700 Dalton (or approx. 100 -700 g/mol) can be detected with a limit of detection of 0,01 mg/kg food (simulant) (=10 ppb).

test method:specific migration (SML)/ NIAS- Screening/ Single substance analyses/ GC- MS- analysis
Norms: Hausverfahren PV055 (2024-11)
Hausverfahren (externer Anbieter)
Needed sample size:5 x DIN A4 per substance and simulant (please label the food-contact side) or 5 articles respectively, packed in aluminium foil

Headspace-Screening
Testing for volatile compounds (operated by accredited external provider)

SML- screening 50% ethanol
For verification of the migration of semi-volatile substances in liquid or pasty fillings (accredited test method)

SML- screening 95% ethanol
For verification of the migration of semi-volatile substances in liquid or pasty fillings (accredited test method)

SML- screening simulant E (Poly(2,6-diphenyl-p-phenylenoxide) (Tenax®))
For verification of the migration of semi-volatile substances in dry fillings (accredited test method).
