Tensile stiffness

is the maximum strength achieved in a tensile test.

It is calculated from the maximum tensile force achieved in relation to the original cross-section. Its unit is N/mm² or MPa (megapascal). With brittle materials it corresponds to the tensile strength. With soft, flexible films it is often higher, as the film still stretches after exceeding the maximum force, constricts and only then tears off.
