Viscosity
Viscosity describes the viscosity of liquids (and gases).
To measure the viscosity of low-viscosity printing inks, run-out cups are used, which are based on the fact that the thinner (low viscosity) a liquid is, the faster it flows out of a vessel with a run-out opening. Therefore, the run-out time is regarded as a characteristic value for its thinness (viscosity). In the laboratory, rheometers are used to measure viscosity. Rheology is called the customer of the flow behaviour.
